The wizard imports data from MS excel on library and relation views.
A view that enables Excel import has the icon in the taskbar.
On the menu: Edit > Excel import
Click the icon and select an excel file for import.
The Import from excel wizard appears, showing the excel data in grid format.
Empty columns and empty rows are removed.
Header fields should be complete in order to work properly.
Note: Empty columns and empty rows are removed.
All header fields should exist for the import to work properly.
If the first row of data is the row with the headers, then check the First row is column headings checkbox.
The first row disappears and the column headers get the names of the excel column headers.
Rows not valid for import can be deleted from the grid.
The Field column is a list of table fields in Accelerator, the Excel column allows for each cell to select the corresponding excel data column header.
The Wizard tries to map fields to headers, based on the likeness in name.
Fields that are mandatory in the grid, are set mandatory (bold) in the mapping table.
When nothing is found, the item will get the <<No Match>> value.
It is perfectly possible not to use the column headers and to map all fields manually.
Validate the data for the existence of items of a relation or the existence of master data.
Check the Continue import when master data value is not found- checkbox to have non-existent master data values replaced with null values so these rows can still be updated or inserted.
The Valid checkbox in the grid shows rows that can be processed.
Rows that can't be handled will get an explanation in the Information column.
The text fields in the grid are editable, changing a field will (re)set the Valid status to false.
After validation, the Save button appears - all valid rows will be saved.
A lot of data can take some time to process or save. The Hide button appears, click it to make the process run in background.
